Displacement and the Refugee Crisis in Contemporary English Drama
Contemporary English plays have increasingly engaged with issues of displacement and migration, dramatizing the plight of refugees attempting to enter 'Fortress Europe'. This lecture will discuss recent works dealing with the 'refugee crisis' with the aim to explore the complexities inherent to the representation on stage of borders, refuge, aid and hospitality.
