ABGESAGT: Intercultural and Indigenous: Contemporary Aboriginal Theatre in Australia
This lecture gives an account of how Aboriginal theatre in Australia is responding to the key global debates of our times, including climate change. As part of this discussion, Helen Gilbert will consider how Indigenous performance makers navigate the demands of international arts circuits to address audiences from different cultures, and how their work engages with prevailing notions of social justice and diplomacy.
