Location: University Basel, Kollegienhaus
Based on an ecocritical reading of Ivorian children’s and young adult literature, this presentation explores local experiences in relation to the challenges posed by the global ecological crisis.
The focus is on the relationships between humans and the living world, issues of climate justice and shared responsibility, and the ecological legacy passed on to future generations.
Children’s and young adult literature proves to be a unique space for reflecting on global changes and the associated responsibilities from an Ivorian and African perspective.
Following the presentation, there will be a discussion with Dr Henri-Michel YÉRÉ (Basel), before the floor is opened to the audience.
