Bohdan Tokarskyj: Ukrainian Poetic Resistance

In his guest lecture, Bohdan Tokarskyj will speak about the poetics and politics of Ukrainian Soviet resistance. He will focus on the Ukrainian Soviet dissent of the 1960s and 1970s: its origins, cultural production, and reverberations in today's defiant Ukraine.

Bohdan Tokarskyj is a literary scholar specialising in Ukrainian Studies. He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge, worked as a Prisma Ukraїna Fellow at the Forum Transregionale Studien in Berlin and as a URIS Fellow at the University of Basel. In 2021 Tokarskyj joined the University of Potsdam as a research associate within the “Europäische Zeiten/European Times” (EUTIM) project.

The guest lecture takes place in the context of the lecture “Schreiben als Protest. Widerstand, Dissidenz und Subversion in den slavischen Literaturen” (Contact: anna.hodel@clutterunibas.ch)
