A. Elisabeth Reichel receives EARS Prize for her dissertation

Writing Anthropologists

Dr. A. Elisabeth Reichel, alumna of the Doctoral Program in Literary Studies, receives the EARS Prize, endowed with 800 euros, for the best dissertation in Anglophone Literary and Cultural Studies in the last five years at one of the universities of the EUCOR network (European Confederation of Upper-Rhine Universities).

Besides the University of Basel, EUCOR includes the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, the Université de Haute-Alsace, the Université de Strasbourg, and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Elisabeth Reichel's work, titled Writing Anthropologists, Sounding Primitives: The Poetry and Scholarship of Edward Sapir, Margaret Mead, and Ruth Benedict, was published by the Nebraska University Press in 2021. Dissertations were evaluated as they were submitted to the universities.
