SUMMARY:"Methodological Observations from the Anton Webern Edition Project"
DESCRIPTION:The Anton Webern Gesamtausgabe at the University of Basel\, CH\
 , is a hybrid musicological edition project. It has the aim of researching
  and testing the scientific application of graph- based semantic models\, 
 in terms of RDF vocabularies\, for the purpose of a digital music edition.
  This ongoing research process is supported both by technological infrastr
 ucture provided and developed at the Digital Humanities Lab Basel (DHLab) 
 and the Swiss National Data & Service Center for the Humanities (DaSCH)\, 
 but also by project-specific solutions to data representation and visualiz
 ation.The proposed talk aims to discuss challenges and obstacles in regard
  to human-readable vs. machine-readable data\, presentation vs. representa
 tion of data\, and short-term project needs vs. long-term sustainability g
 oals\, and thus tries to open up lines for methodological reflections in a
  more broader context of DH research and projects.
